How you start sets the level. There is no second chance to make a first impression. If you do the right things early in a new relationship, you can be rewarded with trust and acceptance forever.
That is not to say that you cannot ruin it all, make mistakes and destroy relationships. Early success is no guarantee of future success, but long-term success is unlikely if you don’t get a good start. People can of course surprise you, rise to the occasion or be thrust into the limelight. Circumstances can open the way for people who were less prominent to shine. A slow start isn’t the end. But nothing can replace a good start.
